You may have been following the several articles that I’ve written on the controversy swirling around the new appraisal procedures. Those articles were picked up and syndicated elsewhere. One commenter, Drew Sygit, left some well reasoned comments on the Seeking Alpha website.
I’m not sure that Drew and I are far off on a lot of points but he does think that there are some fairly serious defects with HVCC. In fairness, I would like to give you a link to his recent post on the subject. Here is the link.
In an email, I told Drew that though I agreed that the law needs some fixing, it still to me represents a giant step forward in terms of wringing outside influence out of the appraisal process.
