What do you think the odds are that Rahm Emmanuel is still the Chief of Staff for Obama come the end of January. I’ll take bets that it is close to zero.
The press reports are heating up and drawing all sorts of connected dots between the erstwhile confidant of Obama and the indicted governor. Given the nature of Chicago politics we probably are only seeing the tip of the iceberg. I doubt that Emanuel is in any danger of criminal involvement but he was a part of the political web of that city and a big player to boot. Given his penchant for in your face politicking, it’s more likely than not that he was a player in the whole tawdry affair.
If the revelations keep dragging him deeper into the scandal, I doubt that Obama has much choice but to dump him.
